If a participating care organization discusses an eligible hemp product with you under the CMS Substance Access Beneficiary Engagement Incentive, a physician must determine that use is appropriate and document shared decision-making. This page can help you prepare for that discussion and follow-up.
Important evidence context. Micelle 60 and FDA-approved prescription cannabidiol are separate products. No clinical, pharmacokinetic, exposure, efficacy, safety or comparability bridge has been established between them. Micelle 60 is not FDA approved, and no clinical benefit or product-specific safety profile has been established for it.
How we review this information
These pages are reviewed and approved by executive management and have been submitted to our Chief Scientific Officer for scientific review. What to bring
- A current list of every prescription medicine, nonprescription medicine and supplement you use, including occasional products and doses if known
- Information about liver disease, advanced kidney disease, dialysis, previous medicine reactions and recent falls
- Whether you drive, use tools, do safety-sensitive work, care for someone else or undergo workplace drug testing
- Whether you are pregnant or breastfeeding
- What you hope will change and how you and the care team would decide whether use should continue
What the documented discussion must cover
Under this optional incentive, the physician’s documented discussion includes potential benefits and risks, your goals and preferences, current medicines and possible interactions, and follow-up planning. Before you leave
Make sure you understand what was decided, what risks and uncertainties were discussed, whom to contact and when follow-up will occur. Keep any written information with your current medicine list.
If you change your mind
If you decide not to start, or want to stop, tell your care team. Do not stop or change a prescribed medicine unless the clinician managing it advises you to do so.
